Boston Society of Architects is one of the most renowned landing spots for architects in the United States. The website is a hub for job postings, events, and resources. I was brought in to lead the build-out of a jobs platform that could handle both paid premium postings and free ones.

It had been almost a decade since I'd touched PHP in any meaningful way. So when I was thrown into a project built on Craft CMS, I was a bit nervous. Not only had I never heard of Craft, I had never worked with Twig either.

I needed to build a system that allowed for both free and paid job postings, an admin panel for managing them, and a front-end for users to view and apply. This required a custom Craft plugin that interfaced with Stripe for payments and a custom front-end for the postings.

Before I knew it, I had authored a custom plugin and made multiple contributions to the Craft CMS open source project. Despite PHP being a language I wasn't familiar with and Craft a framework I knew little about, I made meaningful open source contributions and shipped on time.
